Yannic, Kristof, and Carol-Gaye have all been so important to me and my family as long as we have known them. Yannic brought so much light, kindness, and creativity into this world and i’m so saddened to hear of his passing. I will never forget the time we shared, hanging around my grandfathers house as kids. Sending blessings and my love to the family. Rest in peace cousin, your memory will live on in our hearts.

I was deeply saddened to hear the loss of Yannic. Your Mom and I shared lots of fun memories and felt the love she spoke of you and your brother. May your good soul rest in peace. Praying the family will find peace and comfort in this most difficult time.

Q: What will you miss most about Yannic?
A: His inner light and warmth. I will forever miss the moments that we did not get to experience together as cousins. Moments my children will also not be able to experience with him. I wish I had more time to bask in his sunlight and watch him grow more into the beautiful person he was already becoming. What a joy it has been to simply have known him. I love you cuz and you will forever be missed.

I had the pleasure of spending some quality time with my cousin Yannic during this past Memorial Day weekend. We had arranged to meet in Manhattan for dinner with my daughter, Talia, another cousin, Hopeton and his young son, Jordan. Yannic had such a natural way with his young cousins and they were drawn to him like moths to a flame. My daughter told me he was “very kind” after he furnished the little ones with cookies at a local cafe, and that he had a “happy Hawaii style” with his vibrant style and grin. After a lovely evening we took what would be our last photographs with him. I am so grateful for the time that we spent together, and that my daughter got to experience the lovely human being he had become. The age gap between Yannic and my daughter, similar to that between he and I. The twinkle in his eyes that day brought back memories of the fun outings I used to have in New York with Yannic, Kris and Uncle Joe many years ago. It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Yannic, a beautiful young man, inside and out, gone far too soon.

I share in everyone’s sorrow and disbelief over the loss of Yannic. I am grateful to have enjoyed a car trip with him recently, where he (rather hilariously) shared his joys, interests, and plans for a big year and life ahead. I was comforted to know that some of those plans came to fruition, even though his life was so tragically cut short. Here is the last photograph I took of Yannic, which I think captures his essence so well. My condolences to all family and friends who are grappling with this tremendous loss.

Some people come into our lives and make a profound difference. I was so fortunate to get to know Carole Gaye, Kristoff, and Yannic when the boys were in elementary school. I was so sorry to hear that Yannic passed away. He was tall, loving, caring, athletic, and smart. I loved his sense of humor. Even in his teen years he always had time for a hug and to share what was going on in his life when we’d see each other in our Fairview lobby. May Yannic’s memory be a blessing to his dad, his brother Kristoff, his extended family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. RIP Yannic. This picture was taken at Yannic’s 8th grade graduation. It was a special afternoon I got to share with him and his family. Carol Vineberg

Yannic Williams was an absolute pleasure to meet during my first year at Emmanuel College. He took me under his wing and made me feel comfortable around him. His energy was infectious around the basketball team, and we enjoyed some wonderful times together. Yannic was one of the most authentic people I had the pleasure of knowing.
To Yannic Williams, Forever a Saint.
With Love, Zach Crisafulli
