Obituary of Ming Chun Ho
Please share a memory of Ming to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On April 23rd, our beloved Ming Chun Ho, wife / mother / grandmother died at age of 84 years old. Mom passed away peacefully at NYU Langone Tisch Hospital surrounded by loved ones along with nurses and doctors who truly cared for her. Our family will forever be grateful for the love and care which NYU Team provided.
Ming is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Alfred Man-Fai Ho, 2 daughters and 2 sons, Emily, Shirley, Leslie, Kingsley; and 7 grandchildren, Brian, Tiffany, Benjamin, Caleb, Daniel, Joseph and Emilia.
Ming was born on April 17th 1940 in Hong Kong, her father Wong Hon Kwong and Mother Law Kit Tao are both deceased.
Ming was an English teacher while living in Hong Kong, after immigrating to New York she focused on helping her family, raised her grandchildren and made a beautiful home for us. Notably Ming received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature with honors at Brooklyn College in 1997 at the age of 57.
Mom was an avid reader who loved history and travel. She was also gifted in painting, loved art, and she immersed herself in nature which led her to become a volunteer at the Bronx Botanical Gardens. She volunteered there for many years after receiving her BA degree until it became more challenging for her to be on her feet regularly. That said, Mom still walked and took more steps than all of her children combined until her passing. Dad was always by her side when she went on her long walks.
Her family was what Ming cherished the most. She was our cornerstone and she made a loving family through her positive attitude, patient guidance and enduring compassion.
Ming’s resting place is located at Maple Grove Cemetery Mausoleum Kew Gardens, surrounded by nature and beautiful grounds she loves.
