Obituary of Linda Lee Gogel

Linda Lee Gogel

Born on August 1st, 1950, and raised in Brooklyn, New York.  She is preceded in death by her father Emmanuel (“Bob”) Blanco, her mother, Lucy Cancel née Morales, and her sister, Lizette Cancel.  She is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Barry, her adventurous son, two beautiful granddaughters, and sisters Brenda Capo, Vanessa Cancel and Enid Cancel.  Linda Lee graduated from Brooklyn College with a degree in early childhood education and from New York University with Master’s degrees in speech pathology and social work.  Linda Lee is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with post-graduate psychoanalytic training.  Linda Lee retired from the NYC Department of Education, where she served as an educator and social worker.  Linda Lee also worked as a psychotherapist at several agencies and in private practice.  In addition to Linda Lee being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and social worker, she is an adventurous and life-affirming woman who, among other things, trained for and completed the NYC Marathon in 1999, enjoyed swimming with her friends, modeled for print advertisements, was featured in a short film, and trained to be an audio book narrator.

A Memorial Service is being held on Saturday, March 9th, at 2 p.m. at:
