Obituary of Irmgard Caroline Stamler

Irmgard Stamler, 84, died peacefully on January 21, 2024 in Novi, Michigan. She was a lifelong resident of Queens, New York, before moving to Brighton, Michigan in the summer of 2023 to be closer to family. 

 

Irma went back to college later in life and graduated from St. John’s University with a teaching degree. She taught Kindergarten at Lutheran School of Bayside and Flushing for 25 years. Upon retirement from teaching, she worked and volunteered in the office at Grace Lutheran Church in Forest Hills, New York until 2023. 

 

She is survived by her son, Paul (Maggi) Stamler of Holly Springs, North Carolina, and her daughter, Susan (Michael) Cummings of South Lyon, Michigan. Irma also leaves behind five grandchildren, Timothy (Christina) Stamler of Austin, Texas, Sarah (Brian) Fryling of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Christa (Evan) Rogers of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Jessica Cummings of Madison Heights, Michigan and Grace Stamler of Raleigh, North Carolina. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church in Forest Hills, New York
