My condolences to Pat's family. He was my teacher at Forest Hills High School and I remember him dearly. Was looking at my old yearbook not long ago and remember him as being one of the best Social Studies teachers I ever had. Just happened to find his obituary here since I have a relative at this very same funeral home now. My sympathies to his loved ones.

I'm sorry to hear of Pat's passing. I had the privilege of working for Pat for 3 years at Nielsen. He was an incredible boss who had the difficult task of managing a dozen work from home employees well before Zoom was in our vocabularies.
I referred to Pat as the Dos Equis man; the most interesting man in the world. From his educational background to love of history, art, culture, sweets and sports he was one of a kind.
His love and knowledge of New York was beyond words and he loved sharing it with anyone who was interested. In the span of one day in the city, he showed us how to get into the Met for $1, proceeded to give us the most in depth museum tour I have ever received, took us down to the Village to a bookstore he loved, then to an Ethiopian restaurant, giving a history of injera bread, then to down to The Cage to watch (and want to play) pickup basketball. All the while, pointing out nuances and histories of buildings and other sites along the way. It was one of the most interesting days I ever had.
One more story about Pat and his heart. The final months of me working for him were strenuous to say the least. New management came in above Pat and was looking to clean shop of all of "Pat's people" in leadership positions. I was one of them. This was also right around the time of my wedding.
Pat always denied the following, but I knew it to be true. In the days leading up to my wedding, he was told he needed to let me go. His new boss was not pleased I was taking a 2.5 week honeymoon. The corporate policy was that letting go of someone needed to be done in person. All too conveniently, Pat couldn't find a time to meet with me in those days leading up to my wedding/honeymoon.
He put his own job on the line by not being able to "find me" for those days.
I was able to enjoy my wedding and go away for several weeks, getting paid and not worrying about anything job related. The day I got home he met with me and delivered the bad news to me. I pressed him on whether or not he knew before I left and he just smiled. At the end of the day, put his job on the line to allow me to enjoy my wedding and honeymoon and not have to worry about my job. That's Pat Menasche! He will be missed by anyone who worked for him!
My sincere condolences to his entire family!
