I am sorry I did not learn of Greg's passing sooner. Greg was an amazing human being; well educated; well spoken; a good friend and funny with his dry wit. If he chose he probably could have been a well known economist or professor, instead he dedicated his life to helping the less fortunate. He was a committed and acclaimed New York City teacher for over thirty years choosing to bring his brand of mathematical pedagogy to some of the most difficult neighborhoods in New York City. He was active in his church and a respected long time executive in his fraternity foundation. He was exceptionally well traveled throughout the United States and the world. Truly the world lost a leading light for the promotion of good. He lived by his life by the Noblesse Oblige credo he often espoused . He will be missed.

We have such wonderful memories of Uncle Greg at family gatherings at Mike and Kat's; Greg was so respectful of Bis Nonna and GaGa, kind with interesting conversation. May his life of good works and kindness remain in hearts for many years to come.

The Brothers of Illinois Beta Delta wish to express our condolences to the family at this sad time.
Brother Greg had an unusual connection to us for which we will remember and honor him in our history.
Most of us never had the chance to meet him but those who did spoke highly of him, his humor and his stories.
The bonds of brotherhood never cease.
Go with God Brother Greg.

Brother Stein was a remarkable person whom I first met in 1979 at convention. His stories and tales of persons and events throughout the history of the fraternity were always fun and a fascinating look at the people and events. Whether you agreed with him or not you had to respect and admire him.
There is much that can be said here but I will leave it simply at I will miss him for all sorts of reasons. A true giant in our midst has passed.
