Sending my sympathy to all of Tonya's family. Tonya and I met at the 2008 AOSA National Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. Then I found out that she was the niece of one of my good friends from WNYOSA: Cathy Jeffers. It was such a joy to share Tonya's journey on Facebook, especially the birth and very early years of her daughter, Stella. Then that joy turned to sorrow as I watched Tonya's long journey toward death. While we will miss her presence here on earth, we know that there is rejoicing in heaven. It is amazing how a chance meeting can lead to friendship - even through Facebook. My prayers will continue to be with Brandon, Stella, Tonya's parents, and all her family.
