My dearest and most loved cousin - I remember the first time I met Doug. We went to mom's house and Topper, her cat, would not leave Doug alone. They say animals have an extra sense about who is kind and who is not. Well Topper sure thought a lot of Doug. We all thought a lot of Doug. I loved listening about his fabulous cooking, and all the things he shared about his life, as well as how much he loved you. I have no doubt that Doug is in heaven and will never have to suffer again. I know nothing I can say will make your pain go away, but I love you with all my heart, and will always be here for you. I can't wait to see you again and give you a big hug. I know you are destroyed right now, but please remember Doug wouldn't want you to be sad. He would want you to continue to follow the path our Lord has made for you. Think of the good times, Darrell, for it is those memories that will sustain you as you grieve ... All my love, Sarah

Douglas was my close childhood friend straight through college up to me starting a family of my own. Me, Doug, Jay, Judy and Joanne. We were inseparable. He was a very intelligent and talented person. He had a great sense of humor. He loved music; a great piano and flute player. A great tennis player. He appreciated good food and loved to cook. I have endless memories with him. I will cherish those memories for the rest of my life.
May you rest in peace in Heaven, you did well on Earth.

Douglas was a bright ray of sunshine when ever he walked into a room. His infectious laughter and sense of humor was like that of no other. He made his friends feel special and loved. He always had kind words and always made himself available to whom ever needed him. He was a devoted son, brother and friend and he will be missed by all those that were lucky enough to truly know him. Although Doug's life ended too soon, I hope he is in heaven smiling down and feeling all the love we had for him. We have a true angel on our side.

To the family: I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. May God wrap His arms around you and give you comfort. Douglas: I am so shocked you are gone. Thank you for caring about your job, making me laugh, provide advice and just seeing you around the airport. I'll miss ya.
